It is more than annoying when someone uses one of your images and does not give you at least credit for it. Adding a watermark to an image will protect it against such things when it reaches public places, like the Internet. A watermark is easy to add using any conventional image editing tool, but it will take longer, especially if you have a large number of pictures to protect. Watermark Factory is more efficient when it comes to performing this task. With this lightweight software, you can edit your own watermarks and place them wherever and however you want.

The download is about 5 and a half Mb and you won't encounter anything out of the ordinary while running the setup. The installation wizard will not bother you with installing any toolbars or other applications which have nothing to do with adding watermarks.

Everything on the interface is placed in a logical manner, so you will quickly find what you're looking for. You can add individual images or whole folders in a list, on the left half of the main window. The right half features two navigation tabs which let you access either a preview of a selected image or watermark options. The preview tab also contains some basic options like rotating, cropping, adding effects and others.

Text or image watermarks can be added separately in a list, under the second tab. Either click the Add text or Add image button beneath the list and an editing window will show up. Besides a large preview of a picture, you can find some useful options on the right side of the window. These include positioning the watermark, setting an opacity level, rotating and embossing. Everything is done by clicking simple buttons, check boxes or moving sliders. When adding an image as a watermark, you can either select a picture from a folder or one of many preset watermarks from the program's own gallery.

If you add a text watermark, the editing window will contain additional options, beneath the preview. Besides typing the actual text, these extra options let you enable shadow effects or add a colored background to the text. Once the watermarks are created, adding them requires specifying an output path and clicking on a large Play button on the bottom side of the main window. You can also convert the images to JPG, GIF, BMP, TGA and PNG. Before generating the watermarked images, you can select one of these formats from a drop menu next to the Generate button.

Pros:
Watermark Factory's interface is very well organized. This makes it easy to create watermarks or perform other simple batch editing tasks.

Cons:
The trial version will add an additional watermark on the results.

With a user friendly interface, Watermark Factory lets any experience level user add any kind of watermark to any number of images.
